MA, it was good to see you again in Houston. Let me be the first to appologize to you for the redheads on the stage screamin' for Sammy during your set. I had to straighten them out for you and finally got them screamin' "Mikey" instead of "Sammy". You rock man and I always look forward to seeing you in Texas.

Next time you are here, you need to have some of my firey hot salsa I make right here in me casa. Would be a good "addition" to your line

You guys were beyond great at the Lakewood Theater in Dallas 10/24. It was great to be near the stage and watch you play. You've influenced my bass playing over the years. Your lead vocals on the old VH tunes kicked! You guys need to start at 8:05 like we started chanting. LOL. What's the significance of the bobble head dolls (or whatever they were) on top of the bass stuff? Mona's? Thanks for such a kickin' show!

Hope the next time you are in Dallas that I'll have the chance to see you again.

The "VH Dark Ages" (Sammy era!) was like the movie "Back To The Future Pt 2" When Biff stoled the time machine and altered time!! That's what happened to the mighty VH when Sammy joined!!! You can even hear Sammy's song "Can't Drive 55" in the movie when the Doc and Marty came back to the altered 1985. Spooky!!! Mikey for the good man you are, Sammy is the real enemy here, he's used you and stoled you away from your VH family. I know once the dust settle's and the Sammy lovey-dovey vibe eventually pisses you off, you will realize the true colors of Sammy. Why do you think Sammy's never got a tan? Because he is always in the shadow of Diamond Dave!!! VH are sounding MIGHTY again. Wolfie's doing GREAT!!! With Sammy it was just Van Halen, but with Diamond Dave it was (and now!!) MIGHTY VAN HALEN!! The one sad thing in all this is you won't be part of the next 10+ years of the mighty VH (Albums, tours rewriting rock again!) If by chance there is a reunion, it will be too little, too late and too old. VH (apart from Wolfie!!) would be in their early 60's. Sammy will be well into his 70's!!! I think that's why Ed & Al were so pissed at you, for not forseeing what Sammy has done to VH and most importantly you!!!! Rock n Roll to ya Mikey!!

P.S. Knowing the people who control this blog, I don't think they will put this up. It's the TRUTH that's why?

M.A.,

I hope u make it to Minneapolis on the second leg of the tour. Then I'll have had the good fortune to see virtually everyone associated with Van Halen in the same year! (again, as I was lucky in 2004 too).

I want to say "thank you" to you, Sammy, and the rest of the current and former VH crew for all the great music and all the fun shows over the years.

p.s. don't listen to the haterz, u all rock!

Right now I would have been just getting out of the Scottrade Center in Saint Louis after the Van Halen show that was scheduled for today but got cancelled. So, for a consolation prize I took the wife to see Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony last night in Bloomington, Illinois. What an awesome show!

Mike was phenomenal. His high-energy stage performance was focused, tight, and full of passion. His bass playing was top notch as usual, and vocally he was at the top of his game. Mike sang some old school Van Halen tunes while Vic played guitar. I got to hear Mike's high tenor backup vocals on the Classic Van Halen songs while Vic sang Dave's part. There is nobody who can sing those backup parts like Mikey - I don't care what your last name is.

Sammy's show was good too, especially when Mike came out to play bass on the Van Hagar material. The energy among the band members is much better when Sam is solo.

Mike seems really happy with what he is doing. He is obviously having fun, which is what it's all about. If the band's not having fun, you can bet that the crowd won't be either. Mike loves to entertain people, and he does a great job at it. Mike, you rock bro.

P.S. - I can't wait to see what your lineup will be for 2008. Who is this mystery "superstar guitarist"? I'll see you then. Make sure the learjet has a full tank of fuel!

Couldn't disagree more with the comments under "VH Dark Ages." My view is that Van Halen was at its best with Sammy and Michael on board. The current tour has its pluses and minuses. Eddie is sober and playing guitar better than he did in 2004. But vocals are important. Dave's a great showman, but his vocals are uneven. Sammy's got the pipes and can pound it out all the time. And Michael's backing VOX are sorely missed. Bob, Vancouver WA

You have got to be living under a rock if you can't see that Sammy and Mikey have NOTHING to do with the fact he is not back with VH.Eddie is the one and only problem.Mikey already said he would have gone on tour but Eddie was all crying like a B**ch that just got cheated on by her boyfriend. Get over it! Mikey and Sammy are doing GREAT and VH is doing well with Wolfie. What was Mikey supposed to do? Wait by the phone for Eddie to call? Leave it alone and enjoy the shows. Maybe Eddie will get his head out of his ass one day and get over it too!

To Anonymous (VH backer): Maybe you didn't realize Sammy fought for Michael to play bass in the last Van Halen reunion tour in 04. They were going to try to find someone else, and Sammy said if Mike's not in, he's not in. It's a well known fact that Mike and Sammy are great friends and enjoy playing together! Maybe you should do your homework before you go ripping on people. Also I shouldn't even have wasted my time writing this since you didn't have the guts to sign the post. Enjoy your Van Halen, I'll be rockin with Mike and Sammy tomorrow night in Moline!

note the coward who wrote about the so-called "dark ages" of Van Halen would not identify himself...

what he said could not be any more untrue if it came out of the mouth of Eddie himself; he is the real problem with Van Halen. His jealousy over Sammy's success, especially over Cabo Wabo, is the factor that put Mikey and Sammy together and they know that better than anyone, especially some no-name who's just spewing garbage on this blog as though it were fact.

Sammy and Mikey are great together and they do not need Ed or Al, never have. The fans love seeing these two play together because they know that it's not for show like the current VH tour is.

On top of that, Mikey is a man who can make his own decisions and the writer of the "dark ages" comment acts as though Mikey is a spineless fool who's being dragged out on tour.

Anyways, we all love seeing Sammy and Mikey and the person who wrote that comment knows that he's wrong.

ROCK ON MAD ANTHONY!!!

Sammy and Michael played DeVos hall in Grand Rapids MI last fall and Michael opened the show with an awesome display of obscure Van Halen songs which blew me away. It reminded me of the Van Halen concert I saw at The Stadium Arena in Kalamazoo MI back in 1981 except that Michael's voice and singing was actually much better than David Lee. Sammy is set to play the Muskegon Summer Celebration July 6th in Muskegon MI and I am curious to know if Michael and his band are going to open the show similar to the way he did at DeVos hall last fall. I was in the 5th row last fall and told all my idiot friends who did not go to that show about the rousing renditions of old Van Halen songs that Michael and his band ripped through and that they missed it big time! I am a large member of the local music community in West Michigan and can pass the word and fill the show if Michael is to open the show like he did last fall. Please let me know ASAP! I love Sammy but Michael's show last fall was worth every penny and more! Please please let me know!
