Viva Las $$Vegas$$
Hey everyone! I hope the new year is going great for all of you, and I hope you had a Bashing Superbowl weekend!! I joined Sammy for a gig at the Palms resort in Las Vegas on Sat. and it was totally crazy!! For those of you who were there, I hope you've recovered by now!! We had a special treat for everyone at the end of the show, good friends Chad Smith and Joe Satriani joined Sammy and myself for a little jammin', and it was out of control!! Wow, just discovered this blog, way cool. Saw you way back in '88 or '89 at the Monsters of Rock at the Cotton Bowl, Dallas. Sammy was climbing way up the side scaffolding which scared the &$^# out of me.

Glad to hear about the show in Las Vegas. But the rest of '08 seems a bit lacking. Aside from the shows in Tahoe, not much of a tour coming up. Does Sammy have something cooking beyond the appearances with Kenny Chesney? I sure hope so.

I saw Van Halen in Atlanta on Sunday Feb. 9th and though it was great it wasn't the same without you. I was suprised to get there and find out you were not performing. dude, im pissed i missed you guys here in sin city. i heard nothing about this show on the radio, that sucks. i have seen halen 2 times on their tour and was hoping to see you and sammy together at some point. i never saw halen with sammy, because i thought, and still think, van halen without diamond dave isnt van halen. that being said i think you are one the best bass players ever. i also love sammy. his solo career, and yes his van halen songs are great. i hope you guys come back here someday and i can party to you two rocking out!
Mikey: Hey man bought tickets becasue you said you were going, starting pounding gin and tonics at 10 AM at Mandaly Bay, door were about to open and so was that days meal..took a cab from the Palms 10 minutes to showtime...sucks because I live in FL and its been over 2 years since you guys made it out here....anyway saw your old bandmates the other day it's not the same man...I mean really was average but had to go because "the other half" skipped FL the past few. I hope you guys make it out here soon.....thanks for rocking.

Caught the Sioux City show- it was awesome! Hear about it Later was my favorite! HA! After the show, my wife finally understood me. She told me that all the stuff I do on stage I copied from you. DUH!

Internet reports are out there that the rest of the VH tour is off. Here's to hoping that Mike & Sam have a successful remainder of 2008 and that some day EVH does rehab correctly (not just a 30 day condensed version)and you guys can tour again, with nothing piped in and with Sam on vocals (and even Dave too if everybody "grows up"). It would take a sober Ed, "no mas" tequila or Cabo Wabo party on stage and a DLR willing to share the stage with Sam. If Dave's not willing, he could stay home. Good chance it'll never happen, but I'd like to see it. Bob, Vancouver WA

Just wanted to let you know that I saw your old band a couple of months ago and I have to say it was the first time I ever yawned at a concert and looked at my watch. You are so missed my man! Anyway, there seems to be a rumour going around at the college campus where I attend school that you, Joe Satriani and Sammy are working on a new band / project. Can you shed some light or confirm if there is any thruth to that?
