Chickenfoot "Roadtest" club tour

Hey everyone!! I'm out here in Boston, getting ready for tonites show, and doing a little reflecting on just how much fun this "pre-tour" club tour has been!!! For those of you who couldn't make it into any of these shows, we'll be blazing through again this summer, so be advised...the fun is far from over!! And for those of you who have braved the near "sardine can" like squeeze in a few of these clubs, I can't thank you enough for coming out and bashing with us!! I know on behalf of the band I can say that we've had a TOTAL BLAST on this run, and cannot wait until we come back around to party with the rest of you!!! Well, gotta go. The "FOOT" comin at ya!!!

Hey everyone. As you probably know by now, there is alot happening with Chickenfoot. We played out first gig on Wed.the 18th, and it was great!!! It was a private show for Best Buy Corp. at the Grove in Anaheim, Ca. We played for about 45 min., and rocked the house!! Whew, is it Holiday season again already?? I hope all of you had a great year, and are ready to finish it off in grand style!! First, I want to wish everyone out there "Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year"!! Party hard , but party safe. Second, I want to update you on the status of "Chickenfoot". Chad and I just got back this week from recording in the San Francisco area, and I am pleased to say that the basic tracks are finished and smokin'!! Right now Joe is sprinkling some guitar magic on everything, and next week Sam will be doing vocals. Then I'll be back up there to slather some backround vocals on everything. Hey everyone, just wanted to give all of you a little update on the "Chickenfoot" project. First of all you can all rest assured that our name will not be Chickenfoot, but I guess we have to call it something for now!! I just got back last Wed. from a week and a half of recording with Sam, Joe, and Chad, and all I can say is....F___K, the shit is ROCKIN!!!! Andy Johns is in the studio with us, and it's sounding BIG!!! I know Sammy got bashed a bit for supposedly comparing this to Zep in the press..( I'm sure if he made any references,it's just because of how excited we all are about how it is coming along. You all know Sammy!! This definitely has the energy of an early Zep or VH for that matter...) NOBODY will be dissappointed!! We have nine basic tracks recorded, and after Sammy and Joe finish up some touring commitments we will be back in the studio to finish this up!!
Be patient, I'll update again soon. We can't wait to get this thing out, so we can bash it up HARD with all of you!!!! Michael

Summer Bashing!!

Well it's been awhile since I've posted, so I thought I'd check in and let you all know what I've been up to......
First of all I hope all of you are having a GREAT summer. I can't wait to get out and party with everyone again!! Also, I'm sure most of you have heard that Sammy and I have been working on a new project with a couple of good friends. All I can say is it is F--IN' rockin and we hope to be in the studio finishing it up early Sept. so we can get out there and PLAY!! I'm also going to be bustin' in on Sammy's tour Aug. 2-3 ( Bone Bash at Shoreline Amphitheatre in S.F., and Costa Mesa at Pacific Amphitheatre) to do some hard bashing with the Wabos and the Scorpions!! ( I got to blow off some built-up steam!!). Hope to see all of you real soon...........Michael

Cinco de Mayo Tahoe BASH!!

Well, another Cinco de Mayo bash at the Tahoe Wabo... and what a party!! I had a great time as usual, and can't wait till the next one. Well, Sammy and I just played our last show of this leg on Sat. 17th in Sioux City Iowa, and now we're home for the Holidays. I want to tell everyone that came to the shows that I had a TOTAL BLAST!!! Last night we played a halloween bash in South Bend, IN and tore the roof off the place! I'm looking forward to our next stop on the tour when we play in Detroit. Sammy's 60th B-Day Cabo Bash

Well I just got back home the other day from Cabo and Sammy's 60th B-Day, and let me tell you...WHAT A BLAST!! The crowds were the biggest and wildest I have ever seen down there! Chad Smith and Ted Nugent were among the crazies that came down to party and jamm, and let me tell you...IT ROCKED!! I will be posting an array of photos from the event on my web site soon, so don't forget to check it out!!

First of all, I hope all of you are having a great Summer!! I want to thank everyone for all the support you're shown me during the past months. I'ts all been pretty crazy, and I just wanted to bring you all up to speed. Alot of you have been asking about the upcoming Van Halen tour and my response to it. It's not that I'm not touring with Van Halen because I'm going out with Sammy, I'm going out with Sammy because I was not invited to do the VH tour.
Sammy told me that if I was asked to be part of the VH tour and decided to do it, it would be totally cool, and it would not tarnish our friendship in the least!! Well it's not to be, and life goes on. I'll still be out there with Sam, and I can't wait to do some partying with all of you. One last note from myself to all the Van Halen fans out there who will be attending their shows...Wolfgang is a great kid, so don't judge him too harshly. What's going on

Hey everyone!! I hope all of you are having a bashing summer!! The fall is coming, and as most of you know, Sammy and I will be hitting the road in October. I'm looking forward to getting out there and partying it up with everybody! I've put a little thing together with Sammy's guitarist Vic, and J.D. on drums. We call it "The Mad Anthony Express", and we'll be opening up the show with some EARLY VH stuff. I'm doing the lead singing, and we've been having a blast with this!!
I'm also having a contest on my web site, with people sending in their HOTTEST recipe's using my hot sauce, hot lava mustard and barbeque sauces. I'm choosing a weekly winner, and after Labor Day weekend I'll be picking a grand prize winner and some runner-ups who will get some cool MA stuff!! I am personally trying out the recipes I like and WHOA!!, I'm running out of Asbestos underwear!!! I'll be checking in with all of you soon with more info on the tour. Father's Day weekend in Lake Tahoe!

Tahoe Wabo Cinco de Mayo weekend

Hey everybody!! It's been awhile since my last post, so I thought I would let you know what's been going on lately. Those of you who were on the Hagar cruise ship party the other month know that I put a little jam together with Vic Johnson and Dave Lauser(calling it the "M.A. Express"). Well we had a blast with it and I decided to do it again, this time opening up for Sam at the Tahoe Wabo on Cinco de Mayo weekend.
Well, Sammy decided to get sick and had to postpone the show until next month. I still wanted to go up there, so I had an idea to play anyway. I called Vic and J.D.( who has been playing percussion with Sam) and asked if they were into it. We lenghtened the set and played the cantina on May 5th(Cinco de Drink-O). OH MY GOD...WHAT A BLAST!! To everyone who was there..."THANK-YOU"!! I will be posting a writeup of the nite on my website this week with lots of pictures and our set list. We had so much fun, we will be doing it again next month when Sammy does the makeup show, except this time it will be outdoors at Harrahs in Lake Tahoe. I just wanted to throw up a little post about last week and how great it was!! First of all I want to again thank all of you on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction! It was a nite I will NEVER forget. Sam and I had a great time. It obviously would have been perfect under better circumstances, but none the less it was an honor to be a part of it.

On Wed. after the induction ceremony, I flew to Puerto Vallerta to meet the cruise ship headed for Cabo. That nite Vic Johnson, Dave Lauser and myself played a two hour set of some of our favorites, including some "Old" VH stuff. I can't remember the last time I sang lead vocals for that long...It was GREAT!! I saw a couple of short clips on YouTube yesterday. It was an awesone time meeting and hangin out with all of you.. I needed a couple of days rest after that!! ( DETOX TIME!!)

One last thing. For those of you who can't get enough MA hot sauce heat, we've just come out with a XXX RESERVE sauce that should be just what you're looking for. Whats Happening!!

Hey everyone! I thought I would post a little update as to what I've been up to. Last Fri. one of my dreams came true as I got to jam with three fantastic guitar players, Jeff Beck, Billy Gibbons and Jimmy Vaughn! It was for an event here in L.A. at the Peterson Automotive Museum, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the '32 Ford. On Sun. I surprised Sammy at the NASCAR race, where he played a few songs before the race. I jumped up to sing a little on"I Can't Drive 55", which was televised before the start of the race. Next I'm looking forward to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction on Mar. 12, then I will fly down to Puerto Vallerto to meet the cruise ship to jam with Sam's band( TheWabos). We are working on a few older VH songs, and I'll be handling all the lead vocals..WATCH OUT HAGAR!! I'm looking forward to bashing it up a bit with all of you on the cruise! VH In The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

I was very excited and honored to learn that Van Halen would be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this March. I want to thank Eddie, Alex, Sammy and Dave. It has been an amazing experience and I am very proud of what we have accomplished. I'm not sure yet how the induction ceremony will work, but I'll keep everyone posted as I find out the details. Well, the holidays are already here and it seems like the year just flew by!! First of all I would like to say..."THANK-YOU" to everyone who came out and supported us on tour this past summer!! You guys are the reason I still love to go on tour, and as long as you want to hear the songs, I'll be out there bashing away and having a great time...

What's Happening!!

First of all I'd like to wish everyone a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! Be safe out there..Alot has been happening since I last posted. First I'll start with the two shows the other week that I missed. Management booked these two shows ( Gibson Amphitheatre, Soboba Casino)without my knowledge after the tour, and failed to let me in on it!! I was pretty pissed, as months before I had booked a getaway for that same weekend, for my wife's birthday, and I would not have gained any points with her if I was to bail!! (all you married guys out there know what I'm saying) Anyway, I told Sam's management to keep me in the loop in the future so this doesn't happen again!
Cabo for Sam's B-Day bash was probably one of the best so far, and I'll post some pics for everyone to check out. I also jammed with my buddies 'The Atomic Punks", last week at a corporate party for YAHOO. What a blast!!! I got to play some of the early VH that I haven't played in a loooong time!! "Hot For Teacher" ROCKED!!!! Thank you Ralph, Joe, Scott, and Lance for inviting me to come out and hang...I think there are some pics of the show out there, but I will also post some up for ya.
Last but certainly not least, it looks like I'll be trading my snowboard this New Years for flip flops, as I will be joing Sammy down in Cabo for some sun and jammin' at the Cabo Wabo. I'm usually in the snow for the holiday's, so this will be quite a change. We'll be playing on New Year's Eve, and if I recover, a few more times. Soboba Cacino show cancellation

I know how dissappointing it was for everyone planning to attend the Soboba casino show to hear about the cancellation. Believe me, nobody was more dissappointed then Sam and myself!! Sammy was quite ill and trying to sing a show sick is ALOT harder to do then just having to play an instrument. I know because I've been through it! The tour is over now, but stay tuned because word has it that we will try to make up the cancelled show. I've published a comment from a person who is quite pissed about the cancellation, and I'm very sorry that someone feels that way about it. Sammy and I take great pride in what we do, THIS IS MY LIFE, DUDE!! We would not have cancelled unless we knew we could not give you fans a great show. Like I said, stay tuned and I'll let everyone know what up as soon as I know!

Being ill SUCKS!!

Sammy and I were very dissapointed that we had to cancel the show at the Soboba casino. Sammy was quite ill, and as our fans all know, he would never get up on stage ill, knowing he could not give our fans 110%, so we felt the right thing to do was cancel. It always sucks to have to cancel a show because of illness, but unfortunately it sometimes happens. We truely apologize to everyone, and hopefully something can be made up for it in the future....Michael

Bass Auction Raises $5K

Bidding is now closed for the autographed Yamaha BB3000MA bass recently conducted by Helping Heroes.

Signed by Michael, Sammy Hagar, Vic Johnson, Mona and David Lauser, the bass was part of a fundraising dinner and auction for cancer patient Brian Mammen. The entire event raised approximately $25,000.

Bill Clippinger beat out 30 other bidders with his winning bid of $5100.

Private Jam Session

Recently I had the chance to help fulfill a young man's dream when I met and jammed with Brian Mammen - an 18-year old cancer patient in San Dimas, CA.

Having children of my own, it really makes me realize how blessed I've been in my life when I hear about someone so young with such a terrible affliction. When Helping Heroes asked me to help fulfill one of Brian's dreams to meet and jam with a member of Van Halen, I was more than happy to make it happen!

We hung out, jammed and had a great time together. I would like to wish Brian and his family all the best. Brian is one brave and courageous person - you rock, Brian!

Tahoe Wabo baby!!!

OH MY GOD!!! I thought playing the club down in Cabo was crazy. After tonight's show I'll be singing " Somebody Get Me a Stretcher"!! I want to thank all you crazed fans who came out here for the shows. They have been awesome!! If I make it home after all this, I'll post some pictures along with commentary to sum up the weekends events. Can't wait to party with all of you this summer!!....see ya soon!!, Michael

Hi kids, what the %&*@$! is up? This is the first post to my new blog (what the hell does blog mean anyway?) What a great time being down at the Cabo Wabo for Sammy's "Are We Having Any Fun Yet?" boat cruise bash. The Wabos were on fire and The Other Half was officially in the house!

I'm in the San Fran area and we just wrapped up rehearsals for the Other Half tour. Everybody is smokin' and the set list is on fire! Vic and Bro are kicking ass!!! I'm excited as hell for the first show in Lake Tahoe. We've got a few surprises in store - some songs we haven't played in quite some time and I'm really looking forward to rockin' with all of our fans this summer.

It feels like such a long time since the last VH tour ended. Sammy and I can't wait to get out there again and party with each and every one of you crazy mofos!!!!!

I hope you'll check in with me and my blog regularly as I'll be posting often about what's happening on and off stage throughout the summer tour.
